Walk with a Vulture Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center• Join our Director of Avian Conservation, Taylor Berry, and our Black Vulture, Vlad, for a fun walk around the ponds at Reflection Riding! Vlad is a trained animal ambassador who will be exploring the landscape with you as you walk along this ½ mile excursion. Throughout the walk, you will learn all kinds of cool and creepy facts, such as how a vulture cools itself on a hot sunny day and their unusual diet. You will also learn the important role they play in our environment. The tour will end with Vlad leading you through our Native Plant Nursery to explore the importance of native plants in the life of a vulture. Long pants and close toed shoes are recommended. Feed the Red Wolves • Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center Come out to our popular Feed the Red Wolves program! Members and visitors can come into our Native Animal Exhibit, meet our red wolf pack, learn more about them, and help feed them. We might even catch a glimpse of our new pups, Romulus and Remus! Our knowledgeable staff members will be there to facilitate your visit, answer your questions, and to guide you through viewing the other native animals in our exhibit. Feed the Red Wolves programs will take place on most Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Space is limited. If you aren’t able to sign up in advance, spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis by checking in with our Welcome Services staff when you arrive. Ms,Alyssas favorite halloween movies from when she was a kid (The halloweentown trilogy) a costume contest and a king sized take home treat to get trick or treating started off the right way! We had a TON of walk ins last year and we unfortunately had to turn people away, so this year we are opening up 10 more slots! Everyone is encouraged to wear their costumes but please no sharp parts (keep captain hooks hook, Lightsabers and Princess crowns at home please) At the request of several parents, we have extended the hours on this one as well! 🎃True Crime Chattanooga Walking Tour  Picnooga • This 90-minute downtown excursion will take visitors into Chattanooga’s past and into the headlines of over 150 years of the city’s true history of crime, murder, suicides, accidental deaths, and mysterious happenings.  Ruby Falls • Lantern Tour: Ghost Walk Edition • Get in the Halloween spirit with a special edition tour featuring ghost stories from the 91-year history of Ruby Falls • On your way to the waterfall, hear the tales and visit the sites of peculiar encounters, mischievous mayhem and tragedy while exploring the cavern by the light of handheld lanterns • After-hours on select Thursday and Saturday nights in October • This NEW tour is expected to sell-out quickly. Ruby Falls Lantern Tours • This intimate experience allows visitors a rarely seen view deep within Lookout Mountain. Limited sized tours begin with a 260-foot elevator ride into the mountain. Upon arrival, there will be no staged lighting in the cave. Select members of the group will be equipped with a small hand-held electric lantern and the tour guide will have a fueled inspector’s lantern. As your eyes adjust to the low light, you will begin to see remarkable sites, dancing shadows, and feel a sense of mystery looking into the darkened path ahead. The Ruby Falls Lantern Tour is not only a visually stimulating experience but it also a storytelling trip. As mysterious shadows dance on underground walls, your guide will share tales of folklore, stories of unexplained phenomena, as well as details on the rich history and geology of the Ruby Falls Cave.
